Fountainhead Studios’ Inaugural Artist Open is this Saturday

Read Time: 2 mins

This Saturday (5/21), we encourage all to participate in the Fountainhead Studios’ Artists Open. This one-day event is designed to eliminate barriers of entry into the arts by inviting the public to engage with artists in their studios. The open studios event encourages locals to see artists as approachable and accessible, and facilitates more discussion between artists and local audiences. With many artist studios located in areas that lack significant cultural offerings, Artists Open ensures a full experience for Miami-based aesthetics and culture.

Fountainhead Studios is an artist community located in Miami which is presenting this annual exhibition of creative talents showcasing local artists in an engaging way. In its first year, Artists Open 2022 will take place on Saturday, May 21st from 11 AM to 6 PM at various local art galleries. Fountainhead was founded in 2008 by collectors and passionate art appreciators Kathryn and Dan Mikesell, who believe that art should be accessible to positively impact the community.

Miami Design Preservation League continues to promote local arts and culture events – whether at its own Art Deco Museum and Visitor Center or via partner organizations that support active immersion in Miami culture. The League is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1976 by Barbara Baer Capitman to preserve, protect, and promote the architectural, cultural, social, and environmental integrity of Miami Beach through education, advocacy, and design. The League’s newly revamped website features a calendar of cultural events, as well as membership information and opportunities to get involved in the Miami art community.

Definitely mark your calendars for this Saturday, May 21 with the Artists Open, a one-day event, that welcomes the public into over 300 artists studios. If interested, you should register to receive an updated listing and local gallery map of participating artists. Learn more about the event and browse the online directory at www.artistsopen.miami.
