MDPL Lecture: “The Future of Miami Marine Stadium”
Art Deco Museum
Wed, March 18th @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Don’t miss the Miami Design Preservation League’s upcoming lecture, “The Future of Miami Marine Stadium.” Don Worth, co-founder of Restore Miami Marine Stadium, will present on the past, present and future of this Miami landmark, originally built in 1963. During its 28-year history, Miami Marine Stadium hosted a wide range of events, from boat races and concerts to community gatherings and religious services. The stadium closed following Hurricane Andrew, but after decades of advocacy, the Miami City Commission recently designated the Oak View Group as the venue’s operator, and a path has been outlined toward its restoration. The next step is a public referendum in August 2026, when Miami voters will decide whether to approve the plans. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place at the Art Deco Welcome Center, located at 1001 Ocean Drive, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.
