Did you know Opa-locka’s founder was once internationally recognized as the “fastest man on Earth”?
Fitting for Fleet Meet Miami, that our city once had one of the largest U.S. Naval Stations in the South?
How about Opa-locka being the most complete collection of unique Moorish Revival architecture in the country?
If you’re free this Saturday at 10 a.m. and have a bike needing to be dusted off, celebrate National Historic Preservation Month and join Discover Opa-Locka for their first-ever bike tour! This inaugural experience will take visitors on a journey back in time to the 1920s, riding through today’s Miami-Opa-locka Executive Airport, seeing the homes and commercial structures built to be a land of Arabia, and hear the stories of industry and growth long forgotten.
Tours are free to all, with registration required at
discoveropalocka.org. All riders must bring their own bike and sign a waiver on arrival!
Saturday, May 11th @ 10 a.m. at the Opa-locka @trirail station at 480 Ali Baba Avenue!
