Step into the spotlight at Vizcaya Village’s Community Open Mic, a dynamic gathering co-hosted by esteemed artist Pangea Kali Virga and local poet Nico Hough. Immerse yourself in the theme of ‘Community’, and let your originality shine through song, dance, poetry, storytelling, performance, or even spontaneous speech.
With only 15 slots available for 5-minute sets, seize this golden opportunity on a first-come, first-serve basis. Register when RSVPing on Eventbrite, but if performing isn’t for you, we equally value a vibrant, supportive audience. So, feel free to RSVP as an observer because what’s a performance without an audience?
During this unique event, co-host Pangea Kali Virga will note down themes that we will later discuss as a collective during the final half-hour, fostering a real-life group chat and shared exploration of what ‘Community’ signifies to us individually and collectively.
Non-alcoholic beverages, beer and wine, and light bites will be available for purchase courtesy of the Vizcaya Cafe.
During the Open Mic our Sawgrass Swap Shop will be open to all so make sure to bring items from home to swap and “shop”. The Sawgrass Swap Shop is a community-centered free boutique consisting of gently used clothing, accessories, books, art supplies, small home goods, and plants during the workshop.
Before you leave, get your photo taken with your fellow performers to be included in our Vizcaya Community Family Album.
Join us to contribute, connect, and create a harmonious chorus of community voices. (No fire, no nudity, no glitter.)
