Denève + Hadelich: The Hollywood Sound
New World Symphony
Sat, March 14th @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm EDT

Violinist Augustin Hadelich returns to New World Symphony with his first public performance of Erich Korngold’s Violin Concerto, which draws from Viennese romanticism and the film scores Korngold wrote in the 30s and 40s. Hear New World Symphony capture “King Kong” with an opening theme that still thrills. Artistic Director Stéphane Denève will close the evening with Richard Strauss’ poem “Also sprach Zarathustra” immortalized by Stanley Kubrick in the opening moments of “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Catch the performance either on Saturday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. or on Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m.
