Brazilian singer Céu became known for a signature sound – iconic Brazilian phrasing and nuance with her airy, slightly smoky alto. Hers is an original mix that seamlessly juxtaposes post-tropicalia samba, soul, reggae, trip-hop, and jazz, cementing her reputation as an innovator. She won a Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album and four Prêmio Multisho awards in Brazil, including Album Recording of the Year. She followed up on the initial buzz surrounding her debut, with a decade of well-received albums and international tours, continuing to grow as an artist. She took time off in 2016 for motherhood and recently returned to the studio with her prior collaborators from Brazil’s renowned Tropix team. The show also features Haitian blues guitarist Paul Beaubrun, son of the legendary group Boukman Eksperyans and one of modern Caribbean music’s most dynamic young stars. Presented by Murmrr x LPR.
