Art Deco Fantasies celebration

Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts (WMODA)

Sat, November 22nd @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm EST

Come celebrate with the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts (WMODA) the centennial of the Paris exposition where the Art Deco movement was born! Discover the magic of the fired arts in the 1920s and 1930s, hear about the role movies had as accidental witnesses to the story of Miami Beach during the Art Deco era and honor community activists who led preservation efforts to save the architectural heritage of South Florida. Also celebrate preservationist Sharon Koskoff at the opening of WMODA’s new Art Deco Library, which received a donation on behalf of the Art Deco Society of the Palm Beaches. Sharon will join MDPL’s Interim Executive Director George Neary at 2:30 pm to discuss “Highlights from the 2025 Paris World Congress on Art Deco”. They’ll share their experiences at the International Coalition of Art Deco Societies in the Centennial Year and the invaluable work they are doing to preserve our Art Deco heritage in South Florida. Tickets cost $50 or $40 for WMODA members and include expert presentations, a boxed sandwich lunch, a champagne cocktail and admission. Call 954-376-6690 to make your reservation.
