Among the many events taking place during the 48th annual Art Deco Weekend is a stellar live music lineup. It will be the ultimate Jazz Age winter festival, set amidst the backdrop of historic Art Deco buildings and commemorating 100 years since the International Exposition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, where Art Deco was born. 🎺

Day 1: Saturday, January 18
On Saturday, January 18, The French Horn Collective will open the Jazz Age Stage at Lummus Park & 12th Street from 4-6 pm.
The French Horn Collective is an energetic and progressive collective of international professional musicians that performs an eclectic variety of Gypsy Jazz, Swing, and modern original French music throughout South Florida.
Led by Parisian multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, and songwriter Vincent Raffard, the group typically features 3 to 8 musicians, with instrumentation including trumpet, guitar, violin, double bass, and clarinet.
Later, step into the glamour of Art Deco Weekend! Join us for our members-only/VIP Opening Night Soirée: An Evening with the South Florida Jazz Orchestra directed by Chuck Bergeron featuring vocalist Lisanne Lyons from 7:30pm – 10pm.

Day 2: Sunday, January 19
Sunday, January 19, 3:30pm James McCoy presents The American Popular Songbook and more!
An evening of acoustic settings of songs from some of America’s greatest composers: Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Jimmy Van Heusen, and Irving Berlin, plus compositions from some of the best in the pantheon of jazz artists from the 20th and 21st century.
James McCoy has been a stalwart of the South Florida Jazz scene for nearly twenty years. He sings and swings on the acoustic bass to present some of the greatest songs from the early 20th century when swing was not just a dance, but the sound of American popular music.
That same day, dress dapper and enjoy a night of live jazz with the South Florida Jazz Orchestra featuring Ashley Pezzotti at 6pm, plus swing dance performances, mini-lessons and more!
The South Florida Jazz Orchestra is Miami’s premier modern big band, comprised of many of the best jazz artists and studio musicians in the greater Miami area. Get ready for a high-energy, joyous, and soulful performance ignited with audience participation!

Monday, January 20, enjoy live music from native Detroiter Mike Cady starting at 1:30pm
Since 1983, Cady, son of the late great Susie Garrett, has amazed audiences with his ability to go from the jazz styling of Eddied Jefferson to lead singer in Teddy Harris Jr’s Be Bop Society Jazz Orchestra. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, he pulls out a classic R&B tune, making each note his own.
Cady has performed with noted musicians such as Marcus Belgraves, Harold McKinney, Rudy Robinson, and Marion Haden.
Don’t miss the mini swing dance lessons and entertainment between band sets!
At 3:30pm, enjoy live jazz by The LeNard Rutledge Jazz Ensemble.
This Miami-based ensemble is known for their captivating, soul stirring, earthy and funky jazz.
Named “Best Jazz Artist” by the Miami New Times, Rutledge’s dynamic style is influenced by his church choir work.The warm exchange of give and take between his stage presence and his band will bring out the inner jazz-lover you didn’t know you had.
At 6pm, our finale: “A velvety mix of Erykah Badu & Billie Holiday paired with the cool grooves of her 007 on bass” is how one reviewer described Acute Inflections.
New York’s Jazzy R&B duo, led by a former Broadway singer, has been featured on HBO and Amazon. Favorites on the jazz charts, their shows are both fun and enchanting.
