The Miami Beach Commission on Wednesday designated the International Inn as an individual historic site. This was the culmination of a multi-year effort between the City, MDPL, and the property owners to protect the property and provide incentives for its preservation.

With this designation upheld, North Beach’s west side has a new Miami Modern (MiMo) landmark at the entrance to Miami Beach. This comes 3 years after the City of Miami Beach designated large parts of North Beach’s North Shore and Normandy Isles National Register districts as local districts – the largest historic designation in Miami Beach in 30 years.
