This year’s design strikes a somber yet hopeful tone as we leave 2020 behind and look forward to a brighter 2021.
Designed by 2020 poster artist Sergey Serebrennikov, “There’s No Place Like Home” depicts a Deco flapper on her balcony under the Miami Beach moonlight. As she looks inside, past her dog friend, she enjoys dancers – perhaps at the virtual Deco Speakeasy – on her 1930s television set beside a Deco lamp and table. In the distance through the mirror, the cupola of the historic Versailles Hotel – Roy France’s Art Deco skyscraper – is revived and shining bright again after many years of neglect. A rainbow beckons us all to a happier and healthier new year.
