Parham’s Restaurant

1950’s Postcard of Parham’s Restaurant located at 73rd and Collins Avenue. Parham’s was opened in 1949 by two brothers Wesley and Harold Parham. Wesley ran the business side while Harold did all the cooking using all his own original recipes. Open 24/7, some of the local favorites were the cheese danishes, pecan rolls, pancakes with maple syrup, southern fried chicken with coleslaw, barbecued spare ribs and their famous milkshakes. In the 70s, it was owned by someone mysteriously named “Tex”. In 2013 it closed permanently, but now houses Sazon Cuban Cuisine. Does anyone have fond memories of eating there & what were your favorites?
