Martin Beaver, first violin of the famed Tokyo String Quartet, will make his New World Symphony debut and join fellows for quartets by Franz Schubert and Samuel Barber. Nearly 1,000 recent music school and conservatory graduates compete for available fellowships each year at the NWS. The Fellows are selected for this highly competitive, prestigious opportunity based on their musical achievement and promise. Martin Beaver has also played in New York’s Carnegie Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Sydney Opera House. As a member of the Tokyo String Quartet, Beaver performed on the 1727 Stradivarius violin from the “Paganini Quartet” set of instruments.
