ABOUT ALA PRESERVATION WEEK 2023
Preservation Week is a national event maintained and managed by Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures (a division of the American Library Association (ALA)) with the goal of sharing information and resources about preservation with the community.
Celebrating the concept of building resilient communities, Preservation Week 2023 inspires action to preserve personal, family, and community collections in addition to library, museum, and archival collections. It also raises awareness of the role libraries and other cultural institutions play in providing ongoing preservation education and information. During Preservation Week, libraries, museums, institutions, and communities are urged to examine environmental effects on collections, as well as strategies for resilience.
