This MOCA Makers event is inspired by the work of South Florida-based artist Vickie Pierre, whose work is on exhibit at the MOCA North Miami. Participants will tour the exhibition accompanied by the artist Vickie Pierre. After the tour, guests will engage in a poetry workshop with local poet Lysz Flo, and learn all about beading in a session led by artist Fola Akinde.
MOCA Makers are art classes inspired by current exhibitions and led by South Florida working and teaching artists. They take place the second Saturday of the month and offer a chance to discover artists in the area, and have a hands-on artistic experience guided by them.
All supplies are included in the cost of the class, admission to MOCA and also a free guided tour. For the Summer Series, participants can register for all three workshops and receive a discount,
Seats are limited, and will only be held for 15 minutes once class begins, so plan to arrive on time.
