On the Move

Join us for an evening of story gathering, sharing, and listening! Help us beta-test our new digital interactive, which uses short oral histories to map the migration stories of community members in South Florida. Afterwards, stop in the Design Store for happy hour specials and a talk led by Christopher Norwood, founder of Hampton Art Lovers. Norwood will reveal on how visual artists of the modern age represented the Great Migration, a mass movement by Black people from South to North in the first half of the 20th century. Throughout the night, you will also have the chance to contribute to a growing archive of oral histories by sharing your own migration story in our Bridge Tender House-turned-oral history booth.

This event is made possible through a partnership with Hampton Art Lovers and The Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab.
