Global Jewish Studies Lecture: The Search for Good After Auschwitz

Jewish Museum-FIU

Mon, March 10th @ 7:00 pm EDT

This lecture delves into Jewish philosophical efforts to restore morality after the Holocaust. It highlights the work of thinkers like Martin Buber, Abraham Joshua Heschel, Hans Jonas, Hannah Arendt, Emil Fackenheim, and others who dedicated their thought to rebuilding the moral fabric of human society. Through groundbreaking philosophical frameworks, these thinkers offer hope for both the Jewish people and humanity, drawing inspiration and hope from the tragic experiences of the Jewish people during the 20th century.

Dr Margalit is Associate Professor at the Kibbutzim College of Education, where he leads graduate-level courses in Jewish thought and education. He also teaches an academic course in environmental ethics and environmental education to diverse cohorts of Israeli, Palestinian, and American students at Ben-Gurion University.
