Jonathan Spector’s play begins as a reunion among old friends, who originally came together during a Birthright trip to Israel. Covering a span of about 20 years, the play explores identity, memory, and what it means to belong. As the friends grow up and the world around them shifts, they find themselves confronting questions like ‘How do we carry the weight of history?’ ‘How do we define who we are, and who we want to be?’ And ‘what happens when the narratives we inherit no longer fit the lives we’re living?’
Set after the attacks on Oct. 7, 2023, Birthright is funny, poignant, and intimate. This world premiere is not just a night at the theater — it offers collective reflection.
The production contains brief nudity and is recommended for ages 16 and older.
