Miami Shores Centennial Homes Tour and Exhibit Celebrates Historic Preservation Month

This Historic Preservation Month, celebrate one hundred years of Miami Shores History. A self-driving tour of six beautiful 1920’s houses is being sponsored by the Miami Shores Historic Preservation Board.

The Centennial Splendor Tour is happening this Saturday, May 11th, from 10 am to 1 pm, starting at the Brockway Memorial Library, located at 10021 Northeast 2nd Avenue Miami Shores, FL 33138.

In this self-driving tour, you will have the rare chance to experience an inside look into the interior of vintage homes and their gardens.

Note: This event is rain or shine. In case of rain, the tour will be of exteriors only.

Thursday, May 2nd, 6pm: Complimentary cocktail reception to mark the 4th Annual Exhibit of Miami Shores Beautiful Historic Houses.”  This year, the evening will include a sneak peek at the upcoming book entitled “Miami Shores Centennial Houses.” The exhibit provides a history of the development of Miami Shores and the Shoreland Company which established it in 1924.

Thursday, May 16th, 6pm: Panel discussion Forum at the Library: Current Trends and Topics in Historic Preservation.
